Krajiny ze sna • Dreamscapes

V tomto cyklu jsem se snažil zachytit krajiny, tak jak je můžeme vidět ve snech. Tyto fotografie se nesnaží být “realistickým” dokumentem. Místo toho se snažím pročistit a zdůraznit dojem, která ve mně fotografovaná místa vzbuzovala. Skryté významy, symboly, naděje i obavy … vše se spojuje a z obyčejných obrazů se stávají Krajiny ze sna.

In this cycle I tried to capture pictures we can see in our dreams. These photographs do not want to be a “realistic” document. Instead, I try to purify and underline the impression these places have left on me. Hidden meanings, symbols, hopes and concerns … all merge together and common pictures grow into Dreamscapes.

Pouliční fotografie • Street

Pouliční fotografie mě vždy přitahovala svou přirozeností, nearanžovaným přístupem, snahou o zachycení “okamžiku”. Mám rád fotografie, které zachycují příběh. Prohlížím si je, a mám pocit, že jsem se stal účastníkem a byl jsem vtáhnut do děje. Co se asi bude dít dál? Street fotografie je ale pro mě zároveň obtížná – vždy se ostýchám na někoho namířit fotoaparát a bez souhlasu dotyčného fotit. V mnoha případech jsem kvůli tomu ztratil možnost zachytit něco jedinečného a výjimečného (alespoň jsem si to vždy myslel!) – a ten následný pocit frustrace bych vám nepřál zažít!

Street photography has always attracted me by its natural and not-arranged approach and attempt to capture “the moment”. I like photographies that capture a story. Looking at them I feel like becoming part of the action. What will happen next? Street photography is, however, difficult for me. I am always hesitant to point a camera at someone and shoot without the consent. On many instances I lost from this reason an opportunity to capture something unique and exceptional (or so I thought!) – and the subsequent frustration was almost unbearable!

Industriál • Industrial

Slovo „industriál“ může znamenat leccos: továrny umístěné v krajině, detaily naleštěných strojů, ale i hromadu pokrouceného plechu nebo dým valící se z komínů… . Každý z těchto obrazů vypovídá něco o tom, co pro nás Industriál znamená, jaké emoce a představy v nás vyvolává. Jsou to představy pozitivní? Nebo v nás Industriál vzbuzuje spíše obavy? Oslava, nebo zatracení pokroku? Na následujících fotograiích můžete posoudit, jak působí téma Industriál na mě.

The word “Industrial” can mean anything: factories located in the countryside, details of the polished machines, as well as hills of warped metal or smoke that rolls out of a chimney… . Any of these pictures tells something about what Industrial means to us, what emotions and imagery it implies. Are these imageries positive? Or does Industrial imply concerns? Celebration or perdition of the progress? You can judge what Industrial means to me on the next pictures.

Krajiny a Města • Land / City Scape

Někdy je to co nás obklopuje tak krásné, že stačí jen zadržet dech a dívat se okolo. Měl jsem štěstí, že jsem navštívil řadu nádherných míst, od Austrálie, přes Nový Zéland, Chile a Argentinu, USA nebo většinu evropských zemí… . Krajiny a Města. Ke každé z vybraných fotograií se vážou vzpomínky z cestování, a na každé místo bych se rád někdy vrátil. Bude to ale těžké, zbývá ještě tolik jiných zemí a míst, kde jsem ještě nebyl… .

Sometimes what surrounds us is so beautiful that it is enough just to hold your breath and look around. I have been lucky enough to travel to many beautiful places, among others Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina, USA or most of Europe… . Land / City Scape. With every photo there is some memory from the travel and I would like to return literally to every place I have visited. It will be difficult, though, because there are heaps of other countries and places I have never been to… .

Černá & bílá • Black & White

Černá a bílá. Hra stínů a kontrastu. Od černé po bílou, plus vše, co je mezi tím.

Black and white. Game of shadows and contrast. From black to white, plus everything in between.

Minimalismus • Minimalism

Méně je někdy více. Odstřihnout vše nepotřebné a jít až k podstatě. Chtěl bych vytvořit fotografie, které by se daly popsat jako minimalistické a čisté.

Sometimes less is more. To cut off all redundant and get to the core. I would love to create photographs that could be described as minimalistic and pure.

Malování • Painting

Nikdy jsem neuměl malovat. Už dlouho se mi ale líbí fotografie, které malby připomínají. Snad proto, že jsou jiné, a spíše než přesně definovaný okamžik zachycují náladu a barvy, které nás obklopují.

I can’t paint but for a long time I like photographs that look like paintings. Perhaps it is because they are ‘different’, and rather than precisely defined moment of time they capture moods and colours that are surrounding us.

Čtverce • Squares

Baví mě ten pocit řádu a vláda symetrie. Zákon převrácených čtverců říká, že intenzita klesá s druhou mocninou vzdálenosti od zdroje. Intenzita mé radosti při vytváření nových Čtverců je ale rostoucí.

I like the sense of order and reign of the symmetry. The inverse-square law states that an intensity is inversely proportional to the square of the distance from the source. The intensity of my joy when creating new Squares is, however, increasing.
